MLE Courses at CU Denver

    Multilingual Education (MLE) is offering MLE designated teachers and staff members an opportunity to take three to four University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) graduate courses at no cost*. 

    Staff who enroll in these courses have the opportunity to

    MLE CU DENVER COURSES

    Graduate course opportunities are available to both MLE Level 1 and 2 designated teachers; Level 2 teachers who are still working towards completion of training requirements are given priority. Courses are online and include 4-5 Zoom sessions. Attendance at the first Zoom meeting is mandatory, and any subsequent absences must be approved by the instructor.

    Summer Semester

    Due to the course workload, participants are permitted to take one course in the fall and spring semesters and up to two courses in the summer semester. 

    The courses are scheduled to facilitate earning a Graduate Certificate in Teaching for Cultural and Linguistic Diversity. Timelines for completing the Graduate certificate might look like:

    PREREQUISITES

    To register for CU Denver courses, participants must either complete Level 1 training requirements (MLE Foundations, MLE 104, and MLE 105B) or be near completion (on track). 

    REGISTRATION

    • Register for CU Denver courses in Learning Space by searching for UCD 5030, UCD 5770, UCD 5050, or UCD 5070. To register, add yourself to the waitlist. The MLE Learning & Development Coordinator will audit the list to approve registration as funding and space availability allow.
    • Once approved, registrants will receive an approval email from the MLE Learning & Development Coordinator. CU Denver will then contact approved registrants via e-mail with specific registration instructions for their system.

    TUITION

    *Please note that MLE covers the tuition for these graduate courses for teachers who complete them with a score of 70% or higher. However, if a participant fails to meet this requirement, fails to complete the course, or drops the course after CU’s drop deadline, they will be responsible for the tuition fee of $942 per course. This will be deducted directly from the participant’s payroll.
