Teacher & SSP Base Salary
When you start working at DPS, your base pay is determined by two factors: the amount of relevant work experience you have and your education level.
Your pay when you are hired is set based on the appropriate years of experience on the school year DCTA ProComp Salary Setting Schedule. For more detailed information regarding initial salary setting, check out the DPS salary setting guide for teachers and SSPs.
After hire, ProComp teachers and SSPs do not receive a "Step" increase every year. The ProComp Initial Salary Setting Schedule is not used after you start working at DPS. ProComp teachers and SSPs can earn future base salary increases through ProComp and increases negotiated between the District and DCTA.
