    As a new team member, please review the Pre-Boarding Portal Checklist shared with you by your hiring representative, the person who called and emailed you after you accepted a verbal position offer. Please direct all questions related to the pre-boarding process to that person. There are several important steps outlined on this Checklist, so please thoroughly review it. 

  • New Educator Welcome Details and Registration

    Save the date:  August 9th, 2021 to August 11th, 2021

    Complete your registration for New Educator Welcome through www.dpsneweducator.com. Your schedule for New Educator Week will be forwarded to you via email one week before the event. If you have any questions about your schedule or the sessions reflected within, please contact newteachers@dpsk12.org.

    Day 1: New Educator Welcome Session, Resource Fair and Regional sessions will be held in person at the Auraria Campus. Event logistics including maps, parking, and transportation options will be shared in July. All events are being planned in accordance with health and safety conditions and regulations. 


    Day 2 and 3: Virtual/online events with both synchronous and asynchronous options.

    Day One: Monday, August 9 

    1. New Educator Welcome Session
    2. Resource Fair 
    3. Regional sessions 

    Day Two: Tuesday, August 10th


    Day Three: Wednesday, August 11th 

    These are sessions essential for success as new employees of the district:

    1. Foundations in Culturally Responsive Education (CRE)
    2. Multilingual Education- MLE Foundations (101/102/103)
    3. Framework for Effective Teaching 101
    4. Content-specific sessions 

    Group Specific Additional Required Training

    World Languages will have additional training. More details to follow. 

  • Summer Professional Development - Curriculum/Content-Specific Summer Professional Learning

    There are many opportunities to receive content-specific support throughout the summer. Please check the 2021 Summer Professional Learning Session Guide for grade level/content-specific learning opportunities. The guide will be active and available for review on May 19. 

    As a new DPS educator with access to your DPS ID/email, please click on the “Current DPS Educators” registration links and log in to Learning Space to complete the registration. You will receive an email confirmation and after 2 hours, you will be able to access your course materials and other resources in Schoology under “My Course”. These sessions provide you with the opportunity to build your capacity to support students by deepening your understanding of content and best practices. 

    As a new DPS educator without access to your DPS ID/email, please use this direct link or click on the “New to DPS Educator” registration links and select all courses you would like to attend.To access session content, links, and resources, you will need to create a free student Schoology account and enter the course code provided to you in the registration form for each course you selected.You will be able to access your course materials and other resources in Schoology under “My Courses”. These sessions provide you with the opportunity to build your capacity to support students by deepening your understanding of content and best practices.

  • Hired Late?

    1. Email neweducators@dpsk12.org letting us know what days you can not attend.
    2. You must also complete the following:

    New Employee Orientation Modules

    Upon completing your hiring, you received an email with necessary information with the subject line: “New Employee Orientation”. The Modules are available in Learning Space for completion. Reach out to NewEmployeeOrientation_HumanResources@dpsk12.org with any questions.
