RE: Bring Your Child to Work Program

As you start returning to the terminals to run your routes, you might be wondering if you will be allowed to bring your child(ren) with you if you don’t have childcare. After consulting with our health experts we have been cleared to continue honoring our Bring Your Child to Work Program, with a few modifications.

Due to COVID-19 we are making some adjustments to the program. You will not be allowed to bring your child(ren) during the first week we begin transporting students for in-person learning. This will allow us to assess our new social distancing procedures.

Also, because we are transporting fewer students than we typically do, we have to make sure all of our available seats go to eligible DPS students. If your child would be taking up a seat that an eligible DPS student needs, then you will not be allowed to bring your child to work until a seat opens up again.

Here are some bullet points of information you need to know BEFORE bringing your child(ren) to work:

  • You must be the parent or guardian of the child(ren)
  • Children must be old enough to walk on and off the bus unassisted
  • You may not bring your child(ren) to work until you’ve received a signed copy of the application from the Kiddie Kommittee. To request an application, please email transportation@dpsk12.org.

Please review this document for more thorough information regarding the Bring Your Child to Work Program.
