School Performance Framework

  • School Performance Framework

The School Performance Framework, or SPF, measures many important aspects of what we know makes a great school – such as how satisfied students and parents are, how much students have improved their scores on state tests from year to year, and how well the school serves and challenges all of its students. The SPF allows DPS to know where a school is making progress and to identify areas to focus on for improvement.

The SPF is published annually for all schools in the DPS family of schools. The SPF production is a collaboration between the Portfolio Management Team and the district’s Assessment, Reporting and Data Support Team.

Important SPF Announcements for the 2019-20 School Year

    Reimagining the SPF

At the start of the 2019-20 school year, the district began the process of reevaluating the district SPF by creating a task force charged with making recommendations for a reimagined SPF. The task force has been assembled from a group of committed members from our school community. Plans for a new SPF tool will be developed for evaluation of the 2021 school year.

Visit the Reimagining the SPF website to learn more about the committee’s work and for opportunities to provide public comment.

COVID-19 Update: 2020 District, State and Federal Accountability Paused

On March 18th 2020, the governor issued an executive order pausing both state assessments and accountability measures enabling schools and districts to focus on providing alternative learning opportunities for students. Without the state assessment results this year, DPS will not run a School Performance Framework for the 2019-20 school year
