School discipline refers to procedures implemented by Discipline Building Leaders when a student engages in specific conduct as presented on The Matrix.        

While doing the work of a Discipline Building Leader, it is essential to prioritize interventions over exclusionary discipline practices in order to ensure the district is being equitable within disciplinary systems. 

There will be instances where consulting The Matrix is necessary to determine the appropriate response to certain behaviors. However, even in these situations, there will always be opportunities for intervention.
