Gmail and Google Workspace

  • Merrill

DPS is a Google district and we use the tools available in Google Workspace to collaborate across our teams. These tools include Gmail, Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, and Chat. If you are not familiar with Google Workspace, we have put together the following resources to help you become accustomed to using these tools.

  • Your DPS Google Account

    Your DPS Gmail Address (dpsk12.net)

All district communications are delivered to your DPS Gmail address. You can access your DPS Google account at googlemail.dpsk12.net, then log in with your DPS username and password. Your DPS Gmail address is typically your User_name@dpsk12.net. For example: Boston_Potter@dpsk12.net, or if you have an older naming convention, it may look something like bpotter@dpsk12.net.

If you do not know your DPS login credentials, please visit iforgot.dpsk12.org to retrieve your username or reset your password. If you need additional password assistance, call the DoTS Service Desk Monday through Friday at 720-423-3888.

    Your DPS Calendar

Use your DPS Google Calendar to quickly schedule meetings, events, and reminders. You can access this calendar at calendar.google.com and log in with your DPS username and password.

Your DPS Google Workspace and Drive

Google Workspace (formerly GSuite) includes collaboration tools such as Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Chat, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and more. You can use your DPS username and password to access your Google Workspace from drive.google.com

Not familiar with using Google? Visit the DPS Google Resource Library or the Google Help Center for more information.

  • Personalize your Gmail Account

If you have not already done so, you can personalize your Gmail account to include a location designation, add your pronouns, change your display name, or add a Google Account picture by following the steps found here.

  • Email Folders (Labels)

Google Workspace uses a concept called Labels. Click the links to learn about the difference between Labels and Folders and how to create, use, and manage them.

  • Team or Shared Inboxes

Shared or team mailboxes are called Groups in Google. To access your Google Group, navigate to groups.google.com, and search for your team or school Google Group or inbox name. For additional support and information, see the following resources:

If you currently do not have a Google Group for your team, you can create one by following the guide Google Groups - Create and Manage.

  • Distribution Lists

We use Google Groups to communicate much like you could with an email distribution list. To access your team or school's Google Group, navigate to groups.google.com, and search for your Distribution Group name. For additional support and information, see the following resources:

If you currently do not have a Google Group for your team, you can create one by following the guide Google Groups - Create and Manage.

  • Check your Voicemail

If you have been assigned a DPS Extension, you can access and listen to your DPS voicemail from your Gmail inbox. A VoiceMessages label is automatically applied when they are sent to your inbox or you can select VoiceMessages from your inbox Labels (folders) on the left. You can also access your voicemail using voicemail.dpsk12.org. For a step-by-step guide see Guide Messaging Assistant Online.
