ELA-S teachers and some special service provider candidates applying for Spanish-designated assignments with DPS are required to successfully complete one of the following two assessments.

SLP Exam: DPS has partnered with Berlitz Languages, Inc., to facilitate and proctor the SLP exam. Candidates who plan to apply for ELA-S teacher positions can choose the SLP exam option to qualify for the Spanish language requirement before being considered for positions that require Spanish and English instruction and delivery. Berlitz will also facilitate and proctor the SLP exam for ELA paraprofessional candidates who are required to speak Spanish as part of their positions. The DPS SLP exam can be administered at your convenience. Register to take the SLP Exam.
