Citywide Events

  • The mission of Denver Public Schools Citywide Arts Events is to provide every student with an authentic and inspirational learning experience to explore various art forms. Citywide Arts Events celebrate each student’s individual, innovative, and expressive artistry.

    Denver Public Schools Citywide Arts Events will broaden students’ individual artistic experiences, exposing them to new and diverse perspectives. Events will showcase each student’s creative potential within their journey as well as our larger artistic community.

  • Dance

    The Citywide program offers a variety of district-wide events for dance students. The Dance Days are led by content specialists from the community. The workshops cover a wide range of genres, and offer an excellent opportunity for DPS students to connect with other students, see peer and professional performances, and expand their individual repertoire. Sub coverage and district transportation are provided for Citywide Days of Dance.

  • Music

    The Citywide program offers a variety of district-wide events for instrumental and vocal music students at all levels, beginning through advanced. Students participating in the Citywide Honors Choir, Orchestra and Band festivals participate in both sectional and full group rehearsals, then perform in a culminating concert. Citywide Honors ensembles are conducted by musicians both from within DPS and from the broader community, and offer an excellent opportunity for DPS students to connect with other students, see both peer and professional performances, and expand their learning.   • Shakespeare Festival

    The mission of the DPS Shakespeare Festival is to provide a whole child experience in the arts that is accessible to 100% of DPS students. The Festival presents a joyful, rigorous, and fun exploration of Denver’s rich culture of collaboration and community. Historically held at the Arts Complex in downtown Denver on the 4th Friday of April. Check out the website for future dates and more information.

  • Theatre Arts

    The Citywide program offers a variety of district-wide events for drama and theatre students. The Drama and Theatre Days are focused events led by content specialists from the community. The workshops cover a wide range of performance and technical subjects, and offer an excellent opportunity for DPS students to connect with other students, see peer and professional performances, and expand their personal experience in theatre. Sub coverage and district transportation are provided for Citywide Days of Theatre (not including the Shakespeare Festival).

  • Visual Arts

    The Citywide program offers a variety of district-wide events for visual art students at all levels, ECE through 12th grade. The Citywide Elementary, Middle School, and High School Art Exhibitions showcase artwork from schools across the district and offer an excellent opportunity for DPS students to connect with their peers and expand their learning. The art shows are a celebration of creative achievement in all our schools.
