  • Critical Illness

Critical Illness (sometimes called catastrophic illness) is offered through MetLife and available to DPS employees that work 20 or more hours per week. Critical Illness insurance is not a replacement for health insurance - you must still be covered by a medical plan that meets minimum requirements for the Affordable Care Act. In the event of a big health emergency - such as cancer, heart attacks or strokes - critical illness insurance pays out lump sums to cover costs not covered by your insurance (such as deductibles, prescriptions, or speciality treatments). Click here for plan details and rates.

  • Accident

Accident coverage is offered through MetLife and available to DPS employees that work 20 or more hours per week. This insurance pays out a lump sum if you are involved in an accident and incur specific kinds of injuries. This insurance complements disability coverage and your health insurance to help cover expenses that aren’t otherwise covered by insurance. Click here for plan details and rates.

  • Hospital Indemnity

Hospital Indemnity (sometimes called hospitalization or hospital insurance) is offered through MetLife and available to DPS employees that work 20 or more hours per week. This insurance is designed to help cover the costs of a hospital admission that may not be covered by your medical insurance. The lump sum payouts can be used for many purposes, including medical copays, deductibles, and regular expenses such as food, rent, or utilities. Click here for plan details and rates.
