• + What is this?

A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is a pre-tax* benefit account used to pay for eligible medical, dental, and vision care expenses that aren’t covered by your insurance plan. This account is intended to help you pay less in taxes on eligible expenses you plan to have during the year (July through June). If you’re not sure if this account is good for you, compare it to our Health Savings Account (HSA).

WageWorks is the manager for your Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Contact them directly with any questions or with helping accessing your account portal.

  • + How does a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) work?

Contributions are deducted from your paychecks pretax (that means you don’t pay income tax on those dollars). WageWorks issues you a debit card to access your funds*. If you prefer to seek reimbursement, you can submit claim forms and bills to WageWorks directly. Make sure to keep all your receipts in case WageWorks needs them from you in the future. Visit WageWorks to learn more about how to access and use your funds.

*For a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) only: WageWorks does not issue a debit card. Eligible expenses must be submitted for reimbursements or scheduled to be sent directly to your care provider from WageWorks. Visit WageWorks for more information on payment options for the Dependent Care FSA.

  • + How do I use the funds in my Flexible Spending Account (FSA)?

Before you do anything, you have to register your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) at www.wageworks.com or by calling 1-877-924-3967.

After you register, you can use your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) card (which you will receive from WageWorks in the mail) just like a debit card! If you’d rather not use your card or don’t have it with you when you need to make a purchase on an eligible expense, you can use WageWorks’ Pay Me Back option. Visit WageWorks to learn how

*For a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) only: WageWorks does not issue a debit card. • + What’s the difference between Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)?

Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) both help you save money by not paying income taxes on the dollars you put towards eligible medical expenses. The Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is a great choice when you have specific expenses that you know are coming. The Health Savings Account (HSA) is great for helping you build your savings for medical expenses that you think may come at some point.

  • + When will I receive my Flexible Spending Account (FSA) card?

Most people will receive their Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards within 3-4 weeks after their effective enrollment date. If you haven’t received your card, please reach out to WageWorks directly by calling 1-877-924-3967.
