Who We Are
The Campus Safety Officers (CSO) Team consists of 90 Campus Safety Officers, 4 Sergeants, 1 Lieutenant, and 1 Commander. This team is responsible for ensuring safety across a diverse range of K-8, Charter, Middle, High, and Intensive Pathway Schools within the DPS network. The primary mission fo the CSO is to practively intervene, prevent, or address potential disruptions, therby providing a protective shield for students, staff and visitors at their designated schools within the District. Moreover, the CSO team places a strong emphasis on delivering top-notch Safety Services, fostering positive relationships with our community partners and designated District facilities. The CSO team extends its support to other DPS divisions by promptly responding to critical incidents throughout the district. We also take pride in our collaborative efforts with the Crossing Guard Program, Traffic Safety Task Force, and Safe Routes 2 School Coalition, ensuring effective communication and follow- through to meet their specific needs.
