The Emergency Management Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and preparedness of Denver Public Schools. By proactively addressing potential risks and coordinating effective responses to emergencies, it safeguards students, staff, and school communities. This critical function integrates communication, coordination, and training to create a secure and resilient educational environment

The Command Dispatch Center

Think of this as the nerve center of our safety operations. As a 24/7/365 operation, we handle over 30,000 service calls a year and monitor all radio communications to stay ahead of emergencies.

Citywide Coordination

We work directly with the Denver Police Department, Denver Fire Department, and dispatch services to respond quickly to crises. 

Emergency Management

The Emergency Management team regularly organizes emergency drills to make sure students and staff know what to do in different situations, like fire evacuations,

lockdowns, or severe weather events.These drills are designed to be age-appropriate and help everyone stay calm and prepared.

Emergency Protocols at Denver Public Schools

As an informational  tool, the video provides a clear and engaging explanation of the vital safety measures we implement to protect our students and staff and community members. Sophia outlines the SRP’s essential actions—Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter—demonstrating how these protocols are applied consistently across all DPS facilities to ensure everyone's safety during emergencies.
