Interim Assessments
-
The purpose of the district-created interim assessments is to provide a high level understanding of how students are progressing towards demonstrating proficiency on CMAS. Interim assessment data should not be the driver for daily Tier 1 instruction but can be used to inform instructional decisions. These assessments will help determine if students can apply what they have learned from the curriculum in a standardized test setting, what prior knowledge students might have about concepts that haven’t been formally taught yet, and eventually provide a correlation to CMAS performance. The data can also be used to determine high-level support in preparation for CMAS (e.g., tutoring, Saturday school and CMAS test prep). Interim assessments will be secure. This maintains the validity of the test and provides a similar testing experience to CMAS. Blueprints are available below to support the understanding of the test design.
