Additional tickets for friends and family members can be purchased for $12 each here. Please note, zoo memberships are not accepted at private events. Selected reservation times must be adhered to.

Can I arrive earlier than my reserved time?
All ticket holders must abide by their scheduled reservation time. Early access will not be permitted.

How many tickets do I get as a DPS employee?
Each DPS employee can register for up to three tickets total (you plus two guests). These tickets are only valid during the time of the Back to School at the Zoo event on Tuesday, August 13 from 5:30–8:30 p.m. Please note: Children two and under are free and do not need a ticket.

How do I receive my tickets?
The Denver Zoo ordering platform will ask you to provide contact information to receive your mobile tickets as you checkout.

I am having trouble with the ticket registration website.
Here are a few tips on completing your registration and receiving your tickets:
- On the zoo registration page, click "continue as a guest" rather than signing into your account to confirm your order.
- To ensure the email with your tickets did not end up in spam, please check your spam folder in Gmail.

Do I need to bring my tickets with me?
Yes, please print out your tickets or have them available on your phone. You will be asked at the front gate to show your tickets in order to gain entrance into the zoo.

Can I purchase extra tickets?
Yes, you can purchase additional tickets here or at the door when you arrive at the zoo. Extra tickets cost $12 each.

Can I use my zoo membership or passes?
No, unfortunately zoo memberships and passes are not accepted during private events.

Will the zoo be open to the public during this time?
No, this is a private event for DPS team members and their guests only. This is a time to come together as a team and celebrate the start of a new school year.

Where do I park and is there a fee?
You may park in any of the parking lots adjacent to the zoo or in the zoo’s four-level parking garage. All of the parking is free. Access to these parking lots is along 23rd Avenue between York Street and Colorado Boulevard near the zoo’s main entrance.
Denver Zoo encourages carpooling, using public transportation, bike riding and walking.

Are there any places to buy a meal or snacks?
Yes, Denver Zoo offers a variety of excellent dining opportunities for your favorite zoo treats and meals. These restaurants and carts will be open with the option to purchase food and drinks during the event.

Can I bring my own food or drinks?
No outside food or beverages are allowed during this event except for sealed water bottles. You may also bring in empty water bottles to fill inside the zoo.

Does the zoo provide wheelchairs or wagons? Can I bring my own?
Yes, the Denver Zoo has push wheelchairs, electric scooters and wagons available for use. You must be at least 18 years of age to operate; no reservations can be made as it is first come first served.
You may also bring your own strollers and wheelchairs into the zoo.

Are there family restrooms or a private place for nursing?
Yes, family restrooms are available at the Main Entrance, Primate Panorama and near the Kamala Café in Toyota Elephant Passage and are available for nursing in private. View the digital map to find restroom locations.

Does the zoo allow pets?
No, for the safety of zoo guests and animals, pets of any kind are not allowed on Denver Zoo grounds. Assistance animals are allowed with some restrictions. Please check in with security at the main gate if you plan on bringing a service animal into the zoo.

Are there other items that are not allowed in the zoo?
Yes, for the safety of the animals, items such as balloons, confetti, flags, straws, boom boxes, loud toys, horns, laser pens, flashlights, stilts, etc., are not allowed. Denver Zoo reserves the right to refuse any other items that animal staff advises may cause distress to the animal collection.

Can we feed the animals?
Feeding, chasing and teasing the animals is strictly prohibited. This includes the free roaming animals that call Denver Zoo home, such as the beautiful peacocks. Observe these animals from a distance and do not approach, chase or feed them. Please do not tap on glass or shout at animals. Violation of this rule is subject to removal from the zoo grounds and/or prosecution.

Where would I find an item I lost at the zoo?
Please visit the Boettcher Welcome Center at the Main Entrance to see if the item has been found or file a claim to report the lost item.

Can I smoke anywhere in the zoo?
Smoking is not allowed inside the fences of Denver Zoo. You can get your hand stamped and exit at the Main Entrance, smoke in the designated smoking area outside of the zoo and re-enter the zoo when you are finished.
