Juneteenth is a significant day of celebration as it marks the end of slavery in the United States and honors the enduring spirit and contributions of Black and African American communities. This day reminds us of the importance of freedom, equality, and justice for all.

This year, we celebrate 159 years of freedom and invite everyone to join us in the Juneteenth festivities. The celebration will include a vibrant parade on Saturday, June 19, 2024, starting at Manual High School and continuing to Denver’s Historic Five Points Neighborhood. The weekend will be filled with musical performances by national and local artists, community and vendor booths, and delicious food.

Additionally, on June 18th, we will feature Juneteenth displays at EGC, Acoma, and 780. We encourage everyone to stop by and learn more about this important day. As a school district, we are committed to addressing issues related to racial equity and justice, and we proudly celebrate Juneteenth to honor our shared heritage and progress. Join us in commemorating this pivotal moment in history and our ongoing journey towards equality.
