How do I receive my tickets?
Every employee will receive a calendar invitation to the event through their DPS email account. To receive your tickets, click on the link in your calendar invite and fill out the form. You can also access the form here. After you complete the first form, you will be prompted to click another link which will send you to the zoo registration website. Select your tickets and follow the instructions to complete the registration.
School leaders from charter schools should share the calendar invite with their staff.
I am having trouble with the ticket registration website.
Here are a few tips on completing your registration and receiving your tickets:
- On the zoo registration page, click "continue as a guest" rather than signing into your account to confirm your order.
- To ensure the email with your tickets did not end up in spam, please check your spam filter by visiting http://spamweb.dpsk12.org/
Do I need to bring my tickets with me?
Yes, please print out your tickets or have them available on your phone. You will be asked at the front gate to show your tickets in order to gain entrance into the zoo.
Can I give my extra two tickets to another employee if I do not need them?
In order to share your extra ticket(s) with another employee, you must register for their extra guests while you are completing your own registration. Make sure you provide the names of those guests during registration. You can then print out or send the guest tickets to that employee.
Can I purchase extra tickets?
Yes, you can purchase additional tickets on the ticket registration website or at the door when you arrive at the zoo.
Can I use my zoo membership or passes?
No, unfortunately zoo memberships and passes are not accepted during private events.
Will the zoo be open to the public during this time?
No, this is a private event for DPS team members and their guests only. This is a time to come together as a team and celebrate the start of a new school year.
Where do I park and is there a fee?
You may park in any of the parking lots adjacent to the zoo or in the zoo’s four-level parking garage. All of the parking is free. Access to these parking lots is along 23rd Avenue between York Street and Colorado Boulevard near the zoo’s main entrance.
Denver Zoo encourages carpooling, using public transportation, bike riding and walking.
Are there any places to buy a meal or snacks?
Yes, Denver Zoo offers a variety of excellent dining opportunities for your favorite zoo treats and meals. These restaurants and carts will be open with the option to purchase food and drinks during the event.
Can I bring my own food or drinks?
No outside food or beverages are allowed during this event except for sealed water bottles. You may also bring in empty water bottles to fill inside the zoo.
Does the zoo provide wheelchairs or wagons? Can I bring my own?
Yes, the Denver Zoo has push wheelchairs, electric scooters and wagons available for use. You must be at least 18 years of age to operate; no reservations can be made as it is first come first served.
You may also bring your own strollers and wheelchairs into the zoo.
Does the zoo allow pets?
No, for the safety of zoo guests and animals, pets of any kind are not allowed on Denver Zoo grounds. Assistance animals are allowed with some restrictions. Please check in with security at the main gate if you plan on bringing a service animal into the zoo.
Are there other items that are not allowed in the zoo?
Yes, for the safety of the animals, items such as balloons, confetti, flags, straws, boom boxes, loud toys, horns, laser pens, flashlights, stilts, etc., are not allowed. Denver Zoo reserves the right to refuse any other items that animal staff advises may cause distress to the animal collection.
Can we feed the animals?
Feeding, chasing and teasing the animals is strictly prohibited. This includes the free roaming animals that call Denver Zoo home, such as the beautiful peacocks. Observe these animals from a distance and do not approach, chase or feed them. Please do not tap on glass or shout at animals. Violation of this rule is subject to removal from the zoo grounds and/or prosecution.
Can I smoke anywhere in the zoo?
Smoking is not allowed inside the fences of Denver Zoo. You can get your hand stamped and exit at the Main Entrance, smoke in the designated smoking area outside of the zoo and re-enter the zoo when you are finished.
