The Program Management Office (PMO) ensures DPS is executing with excellence on it's most critical work by collaborating with Team DPS to lead the planning & execution of sustainable initiatives that have a measurable impact on the success of ALL students, with a focus on equity.

The PMO serves as a critical accelerator of the district's strategic goals by offering a formal, research-backled approach to project management, change managemnet, and process improvement for enterprise-wide projects. We are driven by our passionate focus on equity and high-quality customer service that meets the needs of each individual leader and project team.

- Project Management - End-to-end support for planning, execution, and delivery of major initiatives.
- Change Management - Strategies to help teams and stakeholders adopt new systems, structures, and ways of working.
- Temporary Staffing Support - When there are no internal resources available and budget can be allocated toward external project management support, the PMO can aid in identifying a contract resource from established relationships with project management consultancies.
- Consultation & Coaching - Expert guidance on launching or advancing strategic work.
- Project Management - End-to-end support for planning, execution, and delivery of major initiatives.

Projects We've Supported
- Data Modernization:
- The PMO spearheaded the migration of all student outcome data to the cloud. This initiative involved transitioning to new data assessment and manipulation processes, including uploading mandated state and READ Act assessments. This work transformed how RAAD loads, analyzes, and utilizes assessment data, supporting the breakdown of data silos and integration of data systems district-wide.

- Accessibility:
- To ensure compliance with Colorado House Bill 21-1110, the PMO managed a project to make all digital content and hardware accessible. This involved developing strategies with departments aligned with district Ends statements, and training teams on project management tools for successful implementation.

- The PMO supported the Climate Action Policy by establishing governance structures, recommending change management strategies, and defining first-year commitments for each climate goal. The PMO also developed goals and strategies across departments to ensure commitments were successfully accomplished and trained teams on project management tools.

- Growth Performance Systems:
- The PMO provided RFP support and project management for a web-based tool designed to streamline how school leaders, educators, and special service providers document observations, evaluations, professional development, and student learning measures. This system will be a central platform for staff to track professional growth, performance goals, and student learning objectives.

- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & Human Capital Management (HCM) System Implementation:
- The PMO led districtwide change management for the implementation of a new ERP and HCM system, impacting 15,000 employees. By developing targeted communications, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and establishing support channels, the PMO enabled a smooth rollout and high user adoption.

- Commons Migration:
- The PMO supported migrating the district's intranet, The Commons, to Apptegy’s Thrillshare platform to improve usability and meet digital accessibility requirements. The new intranet will be secure, accessible, and integrated with other district systems.
- Impact: The new commons intranet will be secure, accessible, and integrated with other district systems—including DPSK12.org and school websites—creating a unified digital ecosystem for staff.
- Privileged access management (PAM):
- The PMO supported the implementation of a Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution in response to a cybersecurity incident. This enhances identity security by monitoring and controlling access to critical systems, proactively identifying vulnerabilities, and managing privileged accounts.

- Google:
- The PMO supported migrating district operations from Microsoft Office and Outlook to Google Workspace and Gmail.

Impact:This transition saved approximately $1 million and improved staff collaboration. It also allowed DPS to optimize its use of Microsoft licenses.
- Learning Management System Adoption:
- The PMO supported the project to expand the Schoology Student LMS, replace the Student Assessment Management system, and implement PowerSchool Professional Learning. The PMO is supporting cross-functional coordination, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure a smooth rollout and adoption.
- Impact: The PMO will help deliver a seamless integration, improve user experience, reduce costs, and increase engagement among educators already familiar with the PowerSchool ecosystem.
