Kartal is a Lead Partner (co-principal) at Denver Green School Northfield. This is his second year on the Innovation Council. He hopes to represent the perspective of the Luminary Learning Network, which is an Innovation Zone, as well as the perspective of school administrators running an innovation school. Kartal was a founding teacher of one of Denver's first Innovation Schools, Denver Green School. After working there for nine years, he helped found DGS Northfield, which is a high performing innovation school in the Greater Park Hill Central Park Enrollment Zone.

She has worked in both innovation and non-innovation schools and strongly believes in the power of autonomy and equitable practices for every student. She is dedicated to fostering a culture of culturally and linguistically sustaining schools and leverages innovation to bring that vision to life. Jennifer loves collaborating with teachers, parents, and all stakeholders to turn innovative ideas into reality.
