Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) for Traditional Teachers
-
Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) are a measure of student growth aligned to targeted, high-leverage standards. SLOs are not meant to measure a student in all facets of a content area. For instance, a high school literature teacher covers a variety of skills and content every year, but their SLO may be focused on the skill of informative writing. Measuring student growth by isolating specific standards and skills brings clarity to where students are actually succeeding, or struggling, helping educators to make strategic instructional shifts.
