  • Taking RTD to school

RTD has a great feature that provides step-by-step directions on how to get to school. The RTD trip planner will show you where to catch the ride and even describes a walking path to your destination, if the stop isn't right in front of your school.

  • Free RTD rides for students

The Zero Fare for Youth program has been voted by the RTD board to continue moving forward. This means that DPS student will continue to ride for free.

To board the bus or train, students will need to show one of the following items:

    • Current school ID
    • Valid government-issued ID
    • Alien registration/permanent resident card
    • Military ID/dependent card with DOB
    • RTD-issued youth special discount card

DPS will not be providing paper or virtual RTD tickets for the 24/25 school year.

Even though RTD is allowing students of all ages to ride for free, DPS strongly encourages elementary school and middle school students to ride with a parent or guardian.
