What's happening here? We had to make some changes to where your benefit credits are shown on your paystub. Your benefit credit amount is not changing. 

Why did we do this? We moved the benefit credits to the "Deductions" to demonstrate to PERA that you are not taking these credits as cash. For more information on how PERA calculates your contributions, please call them directly at 1-800-759-7372 Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Mountain time).

For employees that elect benefits through DPS, your benefit credits will now be reflected as a negative number on the "Deductions" side of your paystub for the Oct. 22^nd paystub and going forward. A negative number on the "Deductions" is a credit amount back to you. Your Year-To-Date (YTD) information up to the October 7th paycheck will still be reflected under earnings through the end of 2019. 

For employees that waive benefits and receive cash, your benefit credits will still be reflected under "Earnings" and count towards your total compensation. Your benefit credit amount is not changing. Please review the listed PERA information to see how this will affect your PERA contributions.
