What people are saying about DPS Management
“I have been with DPS five years and during this time, have had difficulty connecting with the big ‘machine’ that is Denver Public Schools. After my experience with DPS Management, I’m now more connected to the people of DPS. DPS is now MY district, and I feel honored to be part of such a diverse community of highly skilled, unique individuals united by our commitment to the DPS vision: ‘Every child succeeds!’ DPSM has given me essential leadership skills and information, knowledge of DPS resources I never knew existed, and, most importantly, relationships with amazing colleagues from across the district. Since completing DPS Management, I am more equipped, more inspired, and more certain that I have an important role to play in DPS. Thank you for investing in the people of DPS.”
-Head Start Family Service Supervisor
“Loved it all- the material, activities, the connections with other DPS departments and leaders, the reverse mentoring- everything!”
-Assistant Principal
“I applaud Denver Public Schools on many fronts, but just having completed the DPSM program, it’s at the top of my list! I want to thank
senior leadership for recognizing the value this type of program brings to staff. The tools given to all of us will benefit the district on many fronts: Buildinghigh performance teams, continuous improvement, self-analysis and involvement with students are among the top benefits this program provides. Not only did we receive awesome training, but many relationships have been developed that will remain with all of us for years to come. As this was a pilot program, I want to encourage the district to continue the momentum it has started.I hope the program continues; I have 22 candidates from varying levels of supervision and management who would benefit by participating. My sincere thanks to the district for this investment in our people.”
-Manager of Facility Maintenance
“I have enjoyed this program more than any other I have ever taken. It truly was the best ever.”
-Operations Manager
“As a new DPS team member, I can honestly say that this program increased my desire to remain committed to this school district. As a young
professional I have found myself always looking for the “next opportunity.” DPSM was that opportunity. With this program, I was able to continue to learn, grow and succeed in my profession. This program is by far the best opportunity afforded me here and I strongly recommend it to any supervisor who is looking to not only become a better manager but also fully understand what it means to be a leader. Thanks again for the opportunity. I am fortunate to be part of an organization that invests in its employees.”-Extended Learning Supervisor
“I want to thank you so much for the opportunity to participate in the awesome DPSM program as part of the inaugural cohort! You've done such great work in bringing together pertinent topics, excellent guests, and actionable next steps! I've learned so much and feel that what I've learned will take my leadership skills to the next level.”
- Education Manager
"I was honored to be a part of the first attendees of this training. The materials were well thought out and gave me a number of new tools to utilize as I strive to help my teams be their best. It was wonderful to get to know so many assistant principals and managers, and I loved the time we spent mentoring the amazing students!
I am enjoying referencing the simulation results as well as my DISC; they will be great references as I work to grow my own skills."
