RE: Bring Your Child to Work Program/Summer
As an addendum to the original document from the Executive Director, this Document is intended to address summer rules of the Bring Your Child to Work Program beginning this Summer. As you all are aware in the past this was not allowed, however we have decided to allow this program to continue through the summer, at this time. With this comessome additional constraints and they are as follows:
The following type of bid work will not be allowed to bring students, and no one will be allowed to bring their children to work the first week in order to allow us to assess ridership.
- Relief Drivers
- Para Floaters
- Work Cleaning Crews
- Excursion Drivers
Also, because we are transporting fewer students than we typically do, we have to make sure all of our available seats go to eligible DPS students. If your child would be taking up a seat that an eligible DPS student needs, then you will not be allowed to bring your child to work until a seat opens up again.
The Following are also still true or have been updated:
- The form for requesting will be online, we will no longer accept paper copies. We will send out the digital form via email at a later date.
- You must be the parent or guardian of the child(ren)
- Children must be old enough to walk on and off the bus unassisted
- You may not bring your child(ren) to work until you’ve received official word from your Terminal Manager and the Kiddie Kommittee.
Please review this document for more thorough information regarding the Bring Your Child to Work Program.
Thank you,
Lonnie Rodriguez
