RE:  COVID-19 Outbreak at Northeast Terminal

Dear Northeast Terminal Employees,

We wanted to inform you that there is a current outbreak of COVID-19 at the Northeast Terminal. Each case of COVID-19 is reviewed by public health. As part of this public health investigation:

  • The people diagnosed are being kept home from school/the work location until they are no longer infectious.
  • The people’s mask use, social distancing, and activities while infectious were assessed.
  • The people who were close contacts of the persons with COVID-19 have been instructed to stay home from school/work for 7-10 days, pending test outcomes, after the exposure. This is called quarantine.

All individuals known to have close contact with people with COVID-19 have been notified and instructed to stay home. Staff who were in close contact have also been instructed to quarantine.

We do not believe you were in close contact with anyone with COVID-19. You do not need to stay home and observe quarantine or isolation precautions, unless you have otherwise been instructed, but you should regularly monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.

If you or another family member develop symptoms consistent with COVID-19 such as headache, cough, fever or chills, shortness of breath, new loss of taste or smell, or nausea:

  • Contact your primary care provider for further evaluation and possible testing.
  • Stay home from work and avoid other activities around other people.
  • Notify your supervisor.

Public Health does not recommend COVID-19 testing at this time. A negative test result does not mean that you will not develop symptoms or become sick after the test. A negative test result means that you did not have COVID-19 detected at the time of testing.

If you have further questions, please reach out to your supervisor or your local public health agency.

Sincerely,

Albert Samora
