November 2021 Art Walk (Posted 10/26/21)

Grab your colored pencils, your crayons, your markers, your chalk, your string, your sewing machine, your glue and popsicle sticks-- whatever inspires you-- and get to creating! We’re getting ready for an Art Walk at both terminals and would love to display your creations.

Getting involved is simple: just drop off your art and/or copies of it by Friday, November 5th. Those of you at Northeast can leave your art with Kim Gotori, or reach out to one of your Wellness Committee members (Deborah Jones, Juan Garcia and Estela Zamora) for more information. Those of you at Hilltop can leave your art in Renee DuPriest’s office.

When dropping off your art, please make sure your name is attached to it. If you could also add your terminal next to your name, that would be great because we plan to display the art at both terminals. That’s why it’s important to include copies of your art, if possible, so your coworkers at the other terminal can see how awesomely talented you are.

Maybe you don’t like making art, but you enjoy appreciating it? Then this Art Walk is also for you. The Wellness Committee will display the art at both terminals from Monday, November 8th through Tuesday, November 30th.

Even if you don’t think your art is that good, create something anyway! You just might be better than you think. Besides, art is in the eye of the beholder. Strolling through the art displays will also be a great way to get our steps in without even realizing we’re exercising. The art might also produce some thought-provoking conversations, leading you to make some new friends. You just never know unless you try.

We look forward to seeing your art. If you have any questions, please email jessica_camp@dpsk12.net.
