RE:      Wear Your Reflective Safety Vest

As we get ready for Winter Break, I want you to be thinking ahead to next year. When we return to work, we all need to remember to wear our reflective safety vests. Please read the following selections from the Transportation Employee Handbook:

Page 4: “All employees must wear the provided reflective vest as it was designed when performing Department duties and outside the Transportation buildings or inside the school bus maintenance shops. Performing Department duties is defined as being on-the-clock and compensated for your work. Transportation maintenance employees

are waived of this requirement as their shop uniform is designed with reflective surfaces.”

Page 72, #13: “Safety vests must be worn while performing lot duty, while on a road call, or in any other situation where traffic may not be aware of your presence.”

If you need a new vest or have questions about when you need to wear it, please ask your supervisor.

Thank you,

Lonnie Rodriguez
