Graduation Guidelines

The Board of Education has established the following graduation requirements for students in the Class of 2021, per Board Policy IKF: Requirements for Graduating Class of 2021 and beyond and thereafter to earn a diploma:
- Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP) – student’s plan for the future
- 24 units of course credit in required areas shown below
- Students whose original ‘Class of’ is 2021 who graduate in 2022 or beyond are required to demonstrate competency, similar to other students in their graduating class.
To earn a DPS diploma, students must complete:
24 Units of Credit
- 4 units of English language arts
- 4 units of mathematics
- 3 units of science
- 2 unit lab science, 1 unit science elective
- 3 units of social studies
- Includes 0.5 units Civics,
- 1 unit of physical education
- 1 unit arts or eligible Career & Technical Education (CTE) arts
- 8 units of approved electives
