NCAA Information for Student Athletes

Students considering a Division I school for an athletic scholarship is required to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center to make sure they stay on track to meet initial-eligibility standards.
Additionally, student athletes must meet the following course requirements:
Core Classes:
Division I
- Must complete 16 Core Classes:
- 4 years of English
- 3 years of math (Algebra 1 or higher)
- 2 years of natural or physical science (including one year of a lab science)
- 1 additional year of English, math, or natural or physical science
- 2 years of social science
- 4 years of additional courses from any category above or world language, comparative religion or philosophy
- Earn a minimum grade point average of 2.3 in Core courses.
- Complete 10 core courses, including seven in English, math or natural/physical science, before the start of their seventh semester. Once students begin their seventh semester, they may not repeat or replace any of those 10 courses to improve their core-course GPA.
- Earn an SAT combined score or ACT sum score that matches your core-course GPA on the D1 sliding scale.

Division II
- Must complete 16 core classes outlined above.
- Earn a minimum grade-point average of 2.2 or better in core courses.
- Earn an SAT combined score or ACT sum score that matches your core-courses GPS on the D2 sligind scale.
