External Partnerships (Corporate Engagement)
There are many ways to volunteer and support DPS students on their career readiness journey. The Career Development Team provides seven work-based learning programs with opportunities to get involved in Coach Mentoring, Launch Internships and Apprenticeships through our partnership with CareerWise Colorado.
Mentors Needed!
The Coach Mentoring Program consists of professionals from all industries who meet with middle or high school students for 2.5 hours/month from September through May. There is a strong need for Spanish speaking and BIPOC professionals in the program’s affinity-based mentoring cohorts. To participate or if you have contacts in your network, please fill out or share the Coach Mentoring Application!
Help Us Recruit Internship Partners!
The Launch Internship Program helps budding professionals build their career and college portfolios through internship opportunities. The program is offered year round with fall, spring and summer sessions. Student internships can be either in-person, virtual or hybrid. Should your DPS team or an organization you know of be interested in becoming a Launch partner, please fill out or share the Industry Partner Interest form.
Help Grow Our Own Talent Through Apprenticeships!
In partnership with Careerwise Colorado, the Youth Apprenticeship Program gives students a chance to become an employee for 2-3 years, receive on-the-job training, and gain industry experience all while attending high school and college classes. Apprentices can be hosted by your DPS department. If interested in learning more, or should you know of an organization that might want to host an apprentice, please contact Diana Casillas-Chavez, diana_casillaschavez@dpsk12.net.
