IC Access

  • IC Access Photo

    Automatic Access

Automatic access to Infinite Campus (IC) is granted under two conditions:

    • By job role, to job roles such as Teacher, Paraprofessional, Assistant Principal, and Principal. These roles are given specific access required to complete their individual job functions in Infinite Campus and only for their specific locations on file with Human Resources.
    • For certain functions, such as Attendance or Enrollment. New for 2022-2023, those who meet specific criteria, including being in a specific job role and passing a related training, will get access automatically within two business days, pending manager approval. You can find more details on this type of additional access below.

If you have questions about your level of access, please check with your Principal, Manager, or Director to verify if your access is appropriate for your role and location.

     Additional Access

Additional access to IC other than what is automatically granted by job role typically requires approval from your Principal, Manager, or Director and may require completion of a mandatory training courses.

    NEW for 2022-2023:

For those in certain school-based roles, your access to additional features in Infinite Campus will now be automatically granted within two business days, pending manager approval (which is also now automated), provided the following parameters are met:

    • Successfully completing and passing the required training from the list below.
    • Being in an official job role intended for the access being sought (for instance, Attendance rights are intended for Office Professionals and Assistant Principals). If you need access to one of these areas and are not in one of the identified groups, please manually submit an incident to DoTS after completing the required training.

Please note: These updates are being rolled out throughout the month of August, 2022. For specific information on included IC access types, associated job roles, and anticipated go-live dates, consult this document or click on a specific IC access type below.

If you need access to one of these areas and are not part of the intended audiences listed below, please manually submit an incident to DoTS after completing the required training.

  • Ad Hoc Reporting Certification

There are two different tools in Infinite Campus that you can use to access data using Ad Hoc reporting; Data Viewer and Filter Designer. Please see below for a description of these tools and levels of access.

    Data Viewer

The Data Viewer is a user-friendly report building tool which allows users to drag and drop fields into a real-time view of the report as it is being built. This tool is used primarily for building basic reports that are not shared with others and have limited export options.

    Access:

This access is automatic based upon your role and location assignment with the district. Most current DPS employees with an Infinite Campus login already have access to use Data Viewer. If you do not have the ability to see the Data Viewer selection in Infinite Campus, it is likely that your current role does not require this access.

Important Note: In Data Viewer, you will be able to select all fields available in the Field Selection list; however, your report will only populate data if you already have access to those fields in Infinite Campus. For example, you can add the selection for Enrich, however if you do not have access to the Enrich tab in Infinite Campus, your report will not generate any results.

    Filter Designer

The Ad Hoc Reporting Filter Designer is a more robust tool that allows you to save, share, and export the filters you create. You can filter, display, report, and share specific database information based on defined criteria.

    Access:

At this time, there is no certification required for Ad Hoc Reporting Access, howerver, this access is not provided automatically. To request Ad Hoc Reporting rights in Infinite Campus visit dotshelp.dpsk12.org to submit your request. Manager or principal approval is required for this access.
